Sending from your own address

Under SMTP Profile you choose how NineOffer sends your email. There are two modes.

The default. Email goes out through NineOffer’s own infrastructure, from estimates@mail.nineoffer.com, with your workspace’s name in front of it — customers see Acme Plumbing via NineOffer. Nothing to configure, and it works immediately.

When a customer replies, the reply goes to the workspace owner’s email address, not to NineOffer.

Good for getting started and for testing. The limitation is that the address itself is not yours, which is worse for recognition, and some customers’ spam filters trust a business’s own domain more.

Send through your own mail server or provider, so email comes from your domain. You provide:

  • Host and Port
  • Encryption
  • Username and Password
  • From address — the address recipients see
  • From name — the name shown beside it

Credentials are encrypted before they are stored.

The page shows whether the profile is Verified or Not configured, and lets you send a test to any address. Do this before you point real traffic at the widget.

Send the test to an address on a different mail provider than your own — delivery to your own domain proves very little about delivery to a stranger’s Gmail account.
